Linen is a natural fibre. The flax plant, from which linen is made, requires minimal water and fertiliser. Flax is a hardy plant that also resists insects, wind, and harsh weather. Linen is obtained from the stalks of the plant. A durable material, linen is admired for its cleanness, its sheen, and its beautiful texture, which is slightly uneven. In the summer, linen feels cool, fresh, and light; in the winter, it feels warm against the skin. Linen's many benefits make it ideal for clothing year round.
Rayon is another name for viscose, the difference is that rayon fibres are shorter than viscose fibres. Rayon is a regenerated wood fibre which is naturally degradable. Often rayon is used as an alternative to silk, as the fibre fineness can achieve the same lightness as silk. Rayon has good durability and keeps its colour better than cotton. In addition, rayon has the same good absorbency as viscose which makes the garment comfortable to wear on hot days.
Viscose is a regenerated wood fibre that is biodegradable and in the same family as with cupro, modal and lyocell. Often, viscose is used as an alternative to silk, since the fibre fineness of viscose allow for the same lightness as silk. Viscose has good durability and retains colour better than cotton. In addition, viscose has a good absorption capacity, which makes the clothes comfortable to wear on hot days.
